Your Cycling Systems Training Plan

The Cycling Systems training plan includes the following:

  • A customized, daily training plan with specific workouts to reach your goal.
  • Weekly plans that build toward the specific long-term goals of your annual training plan.
  • Unlimited email interaction between us to help monitor progress.
  • Weekly telephone contact to discuss concerns, questions and anything that comes up pertaining to your training.
  • Revisions of your training plan as needed.
  • Nutritional guidance.
  • A private online log-in to your personal training plan.


Performance Testing

Performance testing is used as a benchmark of your overall fitness. You are tested on a Computrainer Pro 3D Professional with your own bicycle to establish your power and/or respective heart rate zones. The testing is non-invasive. Testing is used to set a benchmark, new training zones and to also evaluate the current phase of training. Performance testing can also serve as a goal. Training without a goal does not motivate. Most of us are inspired by improvements in our performance and competition. Anticipating an upcoming performance test motivates us to train harder.

The initial testing establishes your maximum aerobic capacity, also known as your anaerobic threshold, lactate threshold, etc. This is your threshold power output or threshold heart rate.

We then establish your training zones. Depending upon the type of event you are entering, the proper physiological system can be trained so you can reach your potential. I recommend periodic testing to evaluate your progress.

If you are unable to test at my facility in Marin County, California, I accept testing results from other sources.
