TRAIN EFFICIENTLY AND EFFECTIVELY:
I started Cycling Systems when I found that training without a goal rarely motivates most individuals. To assist you in becoming a better athlete, I work with you to assess your abilities, set attainable goals and to keep those goals in focus. Part science, part art, I help you put the pieces of the training puzzle together to enhance your performance potential and reach your goals. Please follow the above links to discover more about Cycling Systems, my philosophy, power and heart rate training methods and client testimonials.
Team CS is entering it's second racing season. Would you like to be part of a Racing Development Team? If so,Click here to learn more about the Northern California based team. It is one of the few teams in the country with a focus on racing skills, training technique and tacital manoeuvers. Team CS has two training camps per year in the Sonoma, CA area.

Do you want to know if you are overtraining and not just over-reaching (the preferred method)? A simple test in the morning can help you.

Preparation: Heart rate monitor and strap readily available on bedroom table next to bed.

Test: As you wake, try and not move around too much. Reach over for the chest strap and watch. Make sure to wet the strap some for contact purposes, turn on the monitor and relax for 2-4 minutes. When you have recorded a nice even HR, get out of bed and stand up! Stay standing for approx 1 minute and keep the monitor recording the heart rate data. When finished, upload to your program so you can see the results.

Analysis: If you have a heart rate that is low and constant, and then upon standing spikes a bit and then settles back down somewhat, go out and train. If you have a heart rate that is low and constant, and then upon standing spikes a bit and STAYS elevated, it is really time to consider a real day off
